The bulk of Non-league football in and around Gloucestershire finished about a month ago and with a summer that promises a lot of movement from both players and coaches, here at Severn Sport we are already getting the itch for the new season. So with that being said we thought we would take a look at some of the key dates for your diary.
Firstly, with the constitutions being signed off for most of the leagues within the non-league football pyramid – especially after Cinderford Town’s reprieve following Walton Casuals folding, a lot of people will be lookimg ahead to one of the most exciting days in the football calendar, fixtures day!
As usual we will have to wait to find out who the Southern League and Hellenic League sides will play on their opening round of matches (more on that to come), but the Premier League find out their fixtures this coming Thursday (16th June) – so expect to see the fixtures released step-by-step.
Now whilst the exact date for fixtures aren’t being radvertised by the respective leagues, we at least know when the leagues will begin.
So based on the information out there online and on social media, here are the dates you need to know:

Friday 1st July – FA announce teams accepted into the FA Cup, FA Trophy & FA Vase for 2022/23 season
Wednesday 6th July – National League release fixtures
Friday 8th July – FA intend to announce the early round draws for above competitions and FA Youth Cup
Tuesday 12th July – Saturday 16th July – Severn Sport Shield
Tuesday 2nd/Wednesday 3rd August – Expected start date for Hellenic Premier Division
Wednesday 3rd August – Preliminary Round tie of Reg Davis Cup (Berkeley Town vs Tredworth Tigers)
Saturday 6th August – FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round/ Expected start date for Hellenic Division One; Reg Davis Cup First Round; Start date for the National League North
Wednesday 10th August – Reg Davis Cup Second Round
Saturday 13th August – Start date for both Southern League Division One South & Central Divisions; Expected start date for Gloucestershire County League and Gloucestershire Northern Senior League
Wednesday 17th August – Reg Davis Cup Quarter Finals
Saturday 20th August – FA Cup Preliminary Round
Saturday 27th August – FA Vase First Qualifying Round
Saturday 3rd September – FA Cup First Qualifying Round
Sunday 4th September – Start date for Gloucestershire County Women’s League
Monday 5th September – Start date for Cheltenham Youth Floodlit League (U18s)
Saturday 10th September – Reg Davis Cup Semi Finals
Saturday 17th September – FA Cup Second Qualifying Round; Potenital date for FA Trophy First Qualifying Round
Saturday 24th September – FA Vase Second Qualifying Round; Potenital date for FA Trophy First Qualifying Round
Saturday 1st October – FA Cup Third Qualifying Round; Potential date for FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round
Saturday 8th October – Potential date for FA Trophy Second Qualifying Round
Saturday 15th October – FA Cup Fourth Qualifying Round
