Cinderford Town chairman Stuart Tait says he expects The Southern League season to be declared null & void, with a decision potentially being announced as soon as Wednesday.
Speaking on Buttee’s for Breakfast on Saturday morning, Tait revealed that there have been discussions already amongst clubs to decide the outcome of the season, with some having played as little as four league games.
“From a personal and logical point of view I think it’s inevitable it will be null & void” Tait told us. “There’s a meeting happening on Tuesday morning with the alliance, so logic would say we’ll hear either later that day or the next.
“The results of the [Southern League] vote haven’t come out yet but the majority of people who I’ve spoken to actually voted for null & void due to the amount of games that would need to be played.”
Tait also discussed the positives at the club, such as hiring a commercial manager and still receiving backing from the community and local businesses, as well as touching on the job that Stephen Cleal has done at The Causeway in the short time he’s been at the club.
