Episode 7 of In The Spotlight is here and for this episode Ryan has caught up with a true Gloucestershire footballing legend in former Gloucester City, Forest Green Rovers, Cinderford Town, Cirencester Town, Slimbridge, Fairford Town, Tuffley Rovers, Longlevens and now Tredworth Tigers man – Lee Smith
Smith, who still holds the record of being the player with the most goals for Gloucester City in any of their seasons at National League level (21), talks us through not originally wanting to leave Gloucester, before returning and playing a part in the 2009 Southern League play-off final win at Farnborough.
The former Cinderford winger also talks rebuilding his career at the Causeway and playing his part in their Southern League Division One West title win in 2016, before joining former teammate Jody Bevan at Fairford Town after a stint at Slimbridge.
Ryan talks to Smith about life as player/co-manager at Tredworth Tigers and how he spent the 2019/20 season rolling back the years by being the top scorer in the Stroud League Division One. Smith tells us about the exciting future of the club and what he is looking to build going forward.
