Home ties await Gloucestershire sides in FA Vase 1st Round draw

Gloucestershire’s Brimscombe & Thrupp and the winner of the Tuffley Rovers vs Longlevens replay have been drawn at in the 1st Round proper of the FA Vase.

Harrison Reeves’ winner was enough to see the Lilywhites claim a 2-1 win at Eastington Sports on Saturday, seeing Brimscombe advance into the 1st Round.

Their win has set up a 1st Round tie with Western League side Cribbs FC at the Meadow. Cribbs have struggled in the Western League Premier Division so far this season, taking just three points from their first five league games.

Cribbs advanced into the 1st Round by defeating Gloucestershire based side Shortwood United 5-1 at the weekend.

The winner of Tuesday night’s replay Tuffley Rovers vs Longlevens will host South West Peninsula Premier League side Tavistock AFC in their 1st Round tie.

Tavistock earned their place in the 1st Round after a 2-1 win after extra time away at Bovey Tracey at the weekend.

Longlevens held on with 10 men to take Tuffley Rovers into extra time before going down to 9 men. Neither side could find a winner and the game finished 0-0, forcing us to do it all over again on Tuesday night at Glevum Park.

Both 1st Round ties are scheduled to take place on the weekend of 13th October, with the winning sides in line for a guaranteed £1125 in prize money (split over being defeated in the 2nd Round).
