Former Gloucester City midfielder Joe Hanks has signed for National League South side, Chippenham Town.
The news comes less than a week after the Tigers confirmed that their top scorer for the 2019/20 season would be leaving the club as City move towards a hybrid model – including becoming mostly full time.
Hanks, 25, links up with Mike Cook who managed City in 2019 and will ply his trade in the National League South next season.
Chippenham confirmed the news on their website on Monday morning and include a statement from Cook which reads:
“This is a great signing for the club. He has played League 2 football in his early career for Cheltenham Town FC.
He has now become an accomplished player at this level over the last few seasons. He can play in a number of positions but I believe his best position is as an attacking midfield player scoring 11 goals last season.
He meets our criteria when player profiling for the modern-day midfield player, he is 25 yrs old and will fit perfectly into our club philosophy.”
