Gloucestershire side to make FA Cup debut after entries to FA competitions confirmed

Newent Town will make their FA Cup debut after being named in the list of entries for the competition, with entries also confirmed for the FA Vase and Trophy for the 2020/21 season.

The Hellenic League Division One West side made their FA Vase debut during the suspended 2019/20 season and have been named in amongst the 737 clubs to take part in the FA Cup for the new season.

They join the likes of Bishops Cleeve, Brimscombe & Thrupp, Cheltenham Saracens, Fairford Town, Longlevens, Lydney Town and Tuffley Rovers in the Extra Preliminary round, scheduled for the 1st September.

Those sides will also enter the FA Vase at the First Qualifying Round on 19th September and will be joined by Shortwood United and Stonehouse Town – with the latter entering the competition for the first time since the 1979/80 season.

As usual the Southern League sides, Evesham United, Cirencester Town, Cinderford Town & Slimbridge will enter the FA Cup at the Preliminary Round as well as the FA Trophy.

Gloucester City will enter the FA Trophy at the Second Round stage on Saturday 5th December, whilst they enter the FA Cup at the Second Qualifying Round.

It is expected that the draws for the early rounds of the cup competitions are to take place on 18th August.
