The Gloucestershire Northern Senior League have confirmed the proposed groups and fixtures for their Reg Davis Cup, set to start in April.
At the start of February the GNSL revealed their proposal for how their sides will resume football when safe to do so, following the easing of current Covid-19 restrictions.
Now after the latest guidance from the government regarding their ‘roadmap’ to freedom, the league have revealed the groups for the cup and a rundown of how the games will pan out.
There will be four groups of eight teams and they are as follows:
Group A: Lydbrook Athletic, Staunton & Corse, Harrow Hill, Broadwell Amateurs Reserves, Whitecroft, Woolaston, Lydney Town Reserves, English Bicknor
Group B: Frampton United Reserves, Brockworth Albion, Bibury, Upton St Leonards, Falcons, Charlton Rovers, Smiths Barometrics, Andoversford
Group C: Cam Bulldogs, Kings Stanley, Taverners, Leonard Stanley, Dursley Town, Berkeley Town, Charfield, Chalford
Group D: Winchcombe Town, Stonehouse Town Reserves, Longlevens Reserves, Cheltenham Civil Service, Abbeymead Rovers, FC Lakeside, Bredon, Barnwood United
Following the rounds of group stage fixtures starting in April and concluding in August after a break for June and July, the quarter finals are penciled in for Wednesday 18th August – with the two semi finals taking place in September as normal.
The league then advise the final will be arranged as normal. But what is interesting is the league are potentially looking at 11 match days from Saturday 3rd April til the end of May – giving us all the chance to get behind and support the tournament.
