Gloucester City have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Niall Maher from Weston-super-mare this evening.
Maher, a former Wolverhampton Wanderers Academy graduate, joins City after initially joining the Southern League side to cover for injury at the start of the 2019/20 season.
The 20 year old signed a professional contract with Football League side Morecambe in 2017 and has since made appearances for Halesowen Town and Stourbridge, before joining the Seagulls in August.
After securing the signing, City have included the former Republic of Ireland U17s and U19s stopper in their matchday squad for this weekend’s trip to Alfreton Town.
Maher is new Gloucester City manager James Rowe’s fourth new signing after the signings of Liam Daly, Jack Senior and Daniel Sweeney.
