Between the two of them, they have been nominated for three awards – with Bevan nominated in the Manager of the Season category by Kelsey and Dunton receiving nominations from both Ryan and Kelsey for separate categories. The former Cirencester man is Ryan’s Signing of the Season and is the first player named on the shortlist for Player of the Season by Kelsey.

Kelsey had this to say about his nominations:

Over the last 18 months there has been a real shift in performance level from Fairford Town and that is down to Jody Bevan and his staff. From Bevan to Jamie Reid, to Shaun Morgan and to Lee Randall, they have installed a winning mentality at the club and their results showed that last season. They have recruited well and look the most likely to challenge for the title from Gloucestershire at the moment.

Ellis Dunton has been superb all season and has always caught the eye of Ryan and I when we watched Fairford Town last term. He was the landmark signing Fairford needed to make to be considered title challengers and he didn’t disappoint all season.

Ryan added his two cents about Dunton as Signing of the Season:

We saw a lot of comings and goings during the summer and we knew that Ellis would be leaving Cirencester Town due to work commitments, so when Fairford brought him in – both of us thought “wow, what a signing!” Even now Dunton is a Southern League player and his performances throughout the season showed why Bevan and co were so excited to get him to Cinder Lane.

The Severn Sport End of Season Awards 2019/20 will be spanned over the Easter Weekend with the winners revealed throughout. Check the website everyday as we continue to reveal and announce the nominees.
