FA Cup First Qualifying Round Draw: Long trip for Ciren whilst Fairford and Cinderford are at home

The remaining four Gloucestershire sides have discovered their opponents for the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup and the draw has given us some mixed ties.

Cirencester Town have been drawn away against South West Peninsula League side Saltash United as a reward for their 3-0 win at Hellenic Premier side Flackwell Heath and will have to endure a 320 mile round trip on a Tuesday night.

After Yesh Lomaty broke the deadlock, Zak Drew would eventually go on to score the winning goal as Cinderford Town progressed, after beating Brimscombe & Thrupp 2-1 at the weekend. The Foresters will now face Hellenic Premier side, Royal Wootton Bassett Town, at the Causeway a week on Tuesday.

Fairford Town are the only remaining Hellenic League side in Gloucestershire in the cup after their penalty shoot-out victory against Edgware Town at Cinder Lane. Jody Bevan’s men will be looking to make history and make the Second Qualifying Round for the first time ever when they face Sholing at home.
