Sides in Gloucestershire Northern Senior League are to cast their vote between three teams to decide who will be promoted into Division One for the 2020/21 season.
Last month it was confirmed that Dursley Town were due to join the GNSL after Tuffley Rovers Development’s decision to move into the Hellenic League’s Division Two West, meaning there would be a spot vacated in Division One.
Now, it has been confirmed by the league to it’s member clubs that Stroud League Champions Dursley Town are to join Division Two as expected and that one of Andoversford, Kings Stanley and Lydney Town Reserves (Div Two’s top three) will be promoted into Division One.
In a communication distributed to the member clubs, the voting process has been outlined, included all three clubs releasing statements and the subsequent vote taking place.
Initially after the original news in April it left confusion amongst clubs, players and fans of Gloucestershire football as to how the decision would be made as the GNSL agreed to null and void their 2019/20 season and expunge all results, yet outlined that Dursley were their preferred choice for promotion due to having the best points-per-game out of all of the applicants.
With Andoversford top of the table when the season was suspended and having the best points-per-game, they were rumoured to be set to gain promotion, but will now, like all of us be anxiously waiting the results of the member club votes.
