Defiant Tigers boss Todd roars “I am capable of turning this around”

Gloucester City manager Chris Todd has roared back in defiance at suggestions he should leave the club, insisting that he is the right man to turn the club’s fortunes around.

The Tigers are winless since the former Eastleigh man took over at the start of September, with a loss to Weston on New Year’s Day bringing widespread criticism and calls for him to go.

However, Todd has released a statement this morning on, refuting these suggestions whilst taking full responsibility for the situation Gloucester City find themselves in.

The statement reads:

To all Gloucester City fans, yesterday was a massive low for everyone involved with the football club. There is no one hurting more than myself, I can promise you that.

After such a positive first half performance, the second was a huge let down and disappointment. As the manager of the football club, I take full responsibility and do not accept that second half display.

What yesterday did do is prove we are in a relegation scrap and realisation that we are not good enough at the present time and could go down. This has not been right all season and cracks have been papered over. I am however very capable of turning this situation around.

I will do everything in my power to make this happen. There is a plan in place and things will happen in the next few days. We as a club can only do this together and need everyone pulling in the right direction.

Gloucester City fans are reacting to the statement this morning and we will update this page as the day goes on.
