Cornell & Company renew sponsorship for 2020/21 season

After a week of confirming sponsorship and partnerships with local businesses, we are delighted to round off proceedings by confirming that Cornell & Company have renewed their sponsorship for the 2020/21 season.

The Gloucester-based mortgage, financial and wills planning company have been sponsoring Severn Sport for the last 18 months having agreed to be our broadcast sponsor initially for the second half of the 18/19 season, before becoming our main sponsor the 2019/20 season.

Cornell & Company have roots to local football, in particular Longlevens, with club chairman Mark Cornell and his son and Longlevens midfielder Jack Cornell, part of the close knit, family run business.

After confirming the renewal, Mark Cornell has issued the following statement:

Ryan and Kelsey do a tremendous job for local football and with my connections to Longlevens it is something I have been able to see close up.

I am delighted to be able to help the guys continue to provide such great coverage and when Ryan called me to see if we would be interested in sponsoring them again, it was something we were keen to finalise.

Head of Programming Ryan Butler is delighted to confirm the sponsorship and has thanked Cornell & Company for years of support.

As soon as Kelsey and I sat down and looked at sponsorship for the 2020/21 season, the first thing we wanted to do was speak to Mark and see if Cornell & Company would be interested in being our main sponsors once again.

We have had offers from other established companies within the county to be our main sponsor, but for me, I wanted to show loyalty to Mark and the company as a whole as they were really the first company to say “Hey, you guys are on to something special here and we want to help you” and I won’t ever forget that.

Through my relationship with Longlevens as a club, I speak to Mark and Jack regularly and they are always appreciative of what Severn Sport do for them and the club, so for us to return the favour and show the company how much we appreciate their support, it is something I was desperate to do.
