Bristol Rovers forward joins Gloucester City in 18 month deal

Gloucester City have completed the signing of Bristol Rovers forward Bernard Mensah on an 18-month deal, for an undisclosed fee.

Mensah, 25, joins after loan spells at Lincoln City and Aldershot Town last term and Maidenhead United this season and is expected to go straight into the Tigers’ squad for their National League North fixture with Southport at the weekend.

The Ghanaian -born forward came through the youth ranks at Watford before signing his first professional contract as a 17 year old in the 2013/14 season.

After two loan spells at Braintree Town either side of a stint at Barnet, Mensah signed for Aldershot on a one year deal in 2016.

A good two seasons for Mensah saw him move onto Rovers in 2018, but he now joins Gloucester as manager James Rowe looks to build his squad for the rest of the season and the next campaign.

Gloucester City host Southport at the Jubilee Stadium on Saturday 25th January and we will have full match commentary live on Severn Sport. More information to follow.
