Swans add more firepower with the signing of two strikers for the season

Slimbridge AFC have bolstered their forward line with the signing of strikers Edji Mbunga and Tornado Bello for the 2018/19 season.

Bello joins the Southern League club after initially playing a trial match for the club, scoring in a 1-1 draw with Brimscombe & Thrupp.

The former St. Austell, Callington Town, St. Blazey & Newquay AFC striker will provide a physical presence up front for the Swans, which is something they have lacked for the last couple of seasons.

He is joined by former Gloucester City & Redditch United forward Mbunga as Slimbridge look add goals to their game for the coming season.

Mbunga is known to the Thornhill Park club though, after singing up on a dual registration for the second half of the 2017/18 season.

Severn Sport understands that Mbunga will be go straight into the matchday squad for Slimbridge’s first home league game of the season, when they welcome Highworth Town to Thornhill Park on Wednesday evening.

Bello however, isn’t available for Wednesday but should be in the squad for the tricky FA Cup tie at home to Hellenic Premier leaders Wantage Town on Saturday.

Slimbridge club secretary Colin Gay confirmed the signings on Twitter this evening as they look to strengthen their squad after an opening day defeat away to Blackfield & Langley at the weekend
