At last month’s Hellenic League End of Season Presentation night local club Tuffley Rovers retained their “Most Hospitable Club” in the Hellenic Premier and they have launched a season ticket deal to kickstart their quest for a hattrick.
Rovers have looked how they can improve their welcome for visiting fans and officials as well as their own fans and have announced that you can now purchase a 2018/19 season ticket for all league and league cup games at Glevum Park for just £35.
With a guaranteed 19 home games throughout the course of the season the offer works out meaning you can watch local football for less than £2 a game.
In a statement issued by Tuffley Rovers Chairman and Club Secretary Neil Spiller said:
“Last season we had the sixth biggest average crowd in the Hellenic Premier Division and we feel that a contributing factor is our efforts to provide value for money.”
“So, even though we considered increasing admission rates, they will stay at the same level (£5 per game; £3 concessions; with U16s offered free entry), with a season ticket also available for just £35. We feel that represents good value and hope that it will help us not only maintain a good level of spectator support, but also increase the number of people watching games.”
The announcement comes after a summer of change off the field at Glevum Park, with Rovers now able to boast a new hospitality room, burger bar and hard-standing area. The club have also installed new dugouts with a more modern design replacing the long standing breeze-block construction.
“We don’t have a playing budget, which can make it difficult to progress on the field. But the club committee are focused on ensuring that we continue to develop our facilities for the benefit of all.” Spiller said in his statement about the improvements off the field at Glevum Park.
“Whilst there is still plenty to do, we’ve come a long way since returning to the Hellenic League and our aim is to make sure it is somewhere that people to want to visit, whether from the local community or further afield.”
This is the second summer in a row that has seen additions made to the Glevum Park facilities, after a new all-seater stand was installed ahead of the 2017/18 season and Spiller acknowledged the support the club have received from the Football Foundation to make the improvements even possible.
“Without access to the funding provided by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF) over the past three years, we might never have been able to even start the changes we’ve introduced, let alone continue the developments once the first phase of essential changes had been made”, Spiller added. “We aren’t yet finished but the bulk of the work is done and we hope people will enjoy and appreciate the benefits.”
Tuffley Rovers begin their pre-season fixture schedule with a visit to Hereford Lads Club on Monday evening, with the game kicking-off at 7:15pm in Hereford.
