League One side Oxford United have taken three players on trial following impressive showings at the JA Sports Management exit trials day at Tuffley Rovers on Sunday.
Sam Ford was a stand out for Severn Sport and earned great plaudits on commentary from Ryan Butler and Kelsey De Maria, as he scored the opening goal for his side in the first game of the day.
Ford, 19, signed his first professional deal with Ipswich Town before joining West Ham United following his release by the Championship side.
The powerful striker chatted to Severn Sport after his performance where he discussed his ambitions off the back of the successful trial day – listen to his interview here.
Another player who shone on the afternoon who has also been taken on trial by Oxford United is Micah Edwards, who recently turned 19.
A quality central midfielder, Edwards worked well in the midfield, showing off a tremendous work rate and desire to get his team moving forward.
Edwards was last at Derby County where he made 18 appearances in the Under 18 Premier League campaign for the Rams youth team.
Also being taken on trial is former Bristol Rovers, Gloucester City and Hampton & Richmond Borough midfielder Charlie Ten-Grotenhuis – we spoke to him here.
