Severn Sport Tipster League – Day 3 Results

Well what a day that was! A day for the bigger punters as two of the three big favourites have come in thus far. As Connor McGregor constantly says in the build up to his UFC fights “THE IRISH ARE BACK!” And they are back in a big way, with Yorkhill, Presenting Percy and Un De Sceaux romping home all before Nichols Canyon smashed the Stayers’ Hurdle from a mile away! A fantastic day to showcase the big guns in racing and what the big players can do on the grandest stage. But how did our tipsters do?

**Ahead of day three it was confirmed on the Severn Sport Facebook page that Lady Gillian had failed to submit her tips on time so suffered a -3 point deduction for doing so. All of her tips were void and she received -1 point per race.

Here are the results of the selected races and how they have affected the league after day three:

2.10pm – Pertemps Network Final Handicap Hurdle

1) Presenting Percy (11/1)
2) Barney Dwan (16/1)
3) Jury Duty (8/1 CF)
4) The Tourad Man (66/1)

This was an absolute disaster for our tipsters. The much fancied Rocklander and Tobefair found absolutely nothing. And neither did our tipsters, all except The Fox, who scored 1 point for correctly predicting Jury Duty to place. The next race was the RyanAir Chase.

2:50pm – RyanAir Chase

1) Un De Sceaux (7/4 F)
2) Sub Lieutenant (8/1)
3) Aso (40/1)

Well that is much better. Un De Sceaux was very popular in the league, with most of the tipsters backing the favourite. There were 3 points scored for Bacon, Mr & Mrs Severn Sport, Sweet Prince, The Gee Gee Girls, The Bearded Beauties and On The Outside for picking the winner. Meaning that The Fox, The Bear and The Press Officer scored 0 points after betting against the combination of Mullins and Walsh.

4.10pm – Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate Handicap Chase

1) Road to Respect (14/1)
2) Baron Alco (10/1)
3) Bouvreuil (10/1)
4) Thomas Crapper (7/1)

Spare a thought for Mr & Mrs Severn Sport and On The Outside who picked Road to Respect as their reserve. Nearly everybody’s pick of Village Vic found absolutely nothing and faded quicker than The Press Officer‘s chances to win the Tipster League after the third race secured a terrible day for him where he scored 0 overall.

Only Bacon and Sweet Prince collected points as they successfully picked Thomas Crapper to place, scoring 1 point each. Unfortunately for The Bear and The Gee Gee Girls who scored -2 points each after Tango de Juilley and Diamond King failed to finish the race, respectively.

So that was the end of Day 3 in the Tipster League. Ruby Walsh dominating the races today with 4 winners out of 4 affecting the outcome of the table which now looks as follows:

The leaders Sweet Prince and On The Outside have now pulled away from the pack and it looks to be a two horse race going into the 4th and final day tomorrow. The Bearded Beauties, who were bottom after day 1 now sit in 3rd position. A quiet day for The Bear and The Fox mean that barring any miracles we will have a new resident tipster.

I can now exclusively reveal that along with the three races for tomorrow (they will be confirmed to the Tipsters tonight and you all tomorrow) there will also be a surprise for the Gold Cup so maybe, just maybe the race is still on.
