Longlevens visited league leaders Thatcham Town today as the inform team in the league.
Levens are now without Merrick and OConnor who have gone travelling and welcomed full back Luke Kavanagh, midfielder Courtney Hamilton into the starting eleven.
Levens started brightly and could have taken the lead as Brad Martin deft chip was cleared off the line.
Thatcham grew into the first period and took the lead after 27 minutes as a dangerous ball inside the levens 18 yard box wasn’t cleared and full back Mark Hughes fired past Ollie Hall.
Thatcham increased their lead on 34 minutes when Daniel Lachacz found space behind the levens back four and cooly slotted.

The second period started with a bang as as a loose cross from levens winger Ryan Dunn rebounded off the cross bar and Bard Martin fired home to bring levens back into the game.
The lion share of possession was controlled by Thatcham who kept the levens back four busy all afternoon, However on 70 minutes full back Craig Beaton linked up well with Martin and Montgomery and slightly misjudged his finish past the on rushing keeper.
Almost immediately after thatcham were awarded a free kick on the edge of the levens box and Tom Melledew executed a superbly struck goal into the top corner.
Levens Manager french reflected saying “we’ve done well against a top side today and should take heart in how hard we made them work for the points”
