A disappointing week for the Swans ended with a third defeat at Wisloe Road, to a Buckland side who leapfrogged Slimbridge in the League table to drop the home side to sixth in the Toolstation Western Premier League.
In a game largely devoid of incident, more late goals were conceded in the last ten minutes, topping off a miserable few days for the Swans. Simon Revell notched a brace for the visitors, and Gavin Hammon added the other goal to seal a comfortable victory for a Buckland side who have won all their away games during February.
The first goal goal came just before the break, when Revell drifted a free kick past the Swans wall and through the arms of Dave Evans with 40 minutes on the clock.
The second goal came with eight minutes remaining – Hammon went on a mazy run beating three Slimbridge defenders before planting the ball past Evans. With almost the last kick of the game, Revell’s corner somehow found it’s way into the Slimbridge net despite Evans’ despairing dive, to round off a bad day at the office for the home side, who must now pick themselves up for a trip to Bridport on Saturday (3.00pm)
