Fifty Shades Of Sport – 50 to 41

This week sees one of the most anticipated films if the year released, Fifty Shades Of Grey.  The film is based on the raunchy book series which took the world by storm for its steaminess. Here at Severn Sport we say if you can’t beat them join them, so we are counting down the 50 rudest sounding sports terms and names called “Fifty Shades Of Sport”. Today we bring you numbers 50 to 41.

 

50 – Hole In One
Anytime something goes into a hole, the description is going to sound dirty. In golf, a hole in one or hole-in-one is when a ball hit from a tee shot finishes in the cup. This awards the player a score of one for the hole.

49 – Rear Naked Choke
The Rear naked choke (RNC) is a chokehold in martial arts applied from an opponent’s back. Depending on the context, the term may refer to one of two variations of the technique; either arm can be used to apply the choke in both cases.

48 – Gregor Fucka
Retired Slovenian-Italian basketball player who won the 2000 European Player of the Year award. More popular than his name suggests.

47 – Squeeze Play
In baseball, the squeeze play is a maneuver consisting of a sacrifice hit with a runner on third base. The batter hits the ball, expecting to be thrown out at first base, but providing the runner on third base an opportunity to score, and it’s always good to score!

46 – Illegal Touching
In American football and in life, illegal touching is pretty much the same thing: touching something you’re not supposed to touch.

45 – David Seaman
Former Arsenal & England goalkeeper who played for a record 15 years in a row for the national side. He was well know for his pony tail and his explosive style in hard games… He has received an MBE for his commitment to England.

44 – Ball Washer
Let’s be real—absolutely everything about golf ball washing is dirty and hilarious, from the very idea to the manner in which the task is executed.

43 – Good Penetration
Penetrate is one of those words that really shouldn’t sound dirty. It’s a pretty technical-sounding word that literally means “succeed in forcing a way into or through.” Nevertheless, any time commentators talk about “good penetration,” you just have to giggle.

42 – Karen Cockburn
Canadian trampoline gymnast who won silver medals in the individual event at both the 2004 and 2008 Summer Olympics. Only gold was awarded for ‘Unofficial Olympic Best Name 2008.’

41 – Sack
An American football term, a sack is when the quarterback gets tackled. Obviously, some sacks are bigger than others. In fact, you could say some sacks are huge and powerful.
