SHORTWOOD UNITED. v. PORT VALE
MONDAY 11th NOVEMBER
Access for parking at Meadowbank will be strictly limited due to BT Sport televising the match LIVE and entry being ALL ticket, with none available for purchase on the day.
A ONE WAY system will be in operation for access to the ground commencing in Nailsworth from Old Market alongside the Britannia Inn. Any vehicles just using the route to drop spectators off will be required to continue on via the ground which takes you back through Downend or Horsley on to the B4058 and the A46.
This will come into operation fully from 6pm so as not to inconvenience local resident’s daily routine, though we seek their cooperation thereafter.
There will be NO access for coaches and it is anticipated the majority of spectators travelling from outside Nailsworth need to avail themselves of the FREE ‘Park & Ride’ service which will operate from Renishaws at Inchbrook on the A46 between Stroud and Nailsworth, utilising a fleet of minibuses. Signs and stewarding staff will identify the location into the parking area. This facility will commence at 5.30pm with inward journeys concluding at 7.15pm from Renishaws to Meadowbank.
Hackney licensed taxis maybe available for hire from Nailsworth bus station but no guarantee can be made by the club. Local based spectators should also consider private hire companies to aid getting to the match or being dropped off by someone not attending the match.
Walking to Meadowbank is discouraged due to limited street lighting and no pavement.
It is important those attending also note the following:
A number of private mini buses can be accommodated at Meadowbank providing they are carrying more than 12 persons and less than 30. Those wishing to apply for parking in this instance at the ground should call 07763 831070 no later than Friday 8th, to book a space.
Any passenger carrying vehicle of more than 30 persons should also use the ‘Park & Ride’ facility and again arrangements made by calling 07763 831070 to discuss arrival time.
No parking is permitted in the vicinity of Meadowbank, especially on Shortwood Road other than normal residential parking.
At the conclusion of the match around 9.30pm, the ONE WAY system will reverse to permit ease of departure from the ground. Those using the ‘Park & Ride are asked to be patient and note the service will close at 11pm.
The club wishes to acknowledge the cooperation of local residents, businesses and police in ensuring the imposition of this Travel Plan on this occasion, in an attempt to keep any disruption to a minimal and controllable level.
