Here at Severn Sport we pride ourselves on bringing the local football community together and tell the stories that need to be told. And that brings us to a link we saw shared on Twitter.
At the end of December 2019, Upton St Leonards manager Lewis Scott sadly lost his 13-year old niece Maddie and both Scott and the club are looking to commemorate the memory of Maddie by purchasing a memorial bench in her honour.
In order to raise the funds required to install the bench, Scott will be taking on the challenge of a sponsored bike ride totalling 31 miles in distance, on March 8th 2020 – what would have been Maddie’s 14th birthday.
Upton’s Nick Musty has set up a GoFundMe page in order to help and encourage donations and incredibly within the first 24 hours they have raised £650 of the £1200 target (accurate as of time of writing).
Here at Severn Sport we encourage everyone to dig deep and donate to a wonderful cause and help Lewis Scott and everyone at Upton St Leonards remember Maddie and celebrate a young life tragically cut short.
