Lydney Town have secured the signing of former Plymouth Argyle apprentice Aaron Goulty.
The forward joins from Southern League side Bideford to help bolster a Lydney forward line after the departures of Lewis Thompson and Ross Gabriel – both to Cirencester Town.
Goulty, 18, had been at Argyle since he was part of their u14s side before being released in the summer. He signed for Bideford in October but now heads to the Rec and joins Rich Kear’s side.
The former Plymouth apprentice is Kear’s second signing of the week, after full back Tristan Murphy joined the club from Kidderminster Harriers U23s earlier this week.
After the recent departures of both Gabriel and Thompson and with Declan Morley-Lyne only just coming back from a collapsed lung recently, Severn Sport understands that Lydney are still looking to bring in another forward to provide Kear options up front for the rest of the Hellenic Premier season.
Goulty should be included in the Lydney squad for their home game with Ardley United at the weekend and their local derby with Longlevens next Tuesday night.
