HIGHLIGHTS: Longlevens 0-2 Portland United – Saturday 7th September

The fairytale story was meant to be for Longlevens on their big day in the First Qualifying Round of the FA Cup, but they made history by reaching that stage for the very first time and have plenty to be proud about.

The game itself saw Portland United advance into the Second Qualifying Round after Jamie Beasley’s curled effort squirmed through the gloves of Longlevens keeper Ash Wintle mid way into the first half.

Then, a free kick into the Longlevens box was cleared against himself by Ollie Long and despite the best efforts from Wintle the officials deemed the ball to have crossed line, much to the dismay of the hosts.

Overall Longlevens can come away from their 2019/20 FA Cup run with their heads held high and know that on another day they would have had more going forward.

Injured goalkeeper Kane Winman joined Ryan Butler on commentary for the game and awarded team mate Jay Kennedy the Severn Sport Man of the Match, whilst impressing on the microphone himself.
