Reg Davis Cup Semi Finals all set as GNSL gets back into full swing

On Wednesday night the Quarter Finals of the Reg Davis Cup took place, with Chalford, Kings Stanley, Lydney Town Reserves and Frampton United Reserves booking their places in the Semi Finals next month.

Chalford booked their spot with a 7-3 win over Smiths Barometrics with Ed Parsloe and Jordan Measures both scoring hattricks for the hosts.

They travel to Lydney Town Reserves for their semi after Town made it a great double for the club after the first team beat Longlevens 3-2. Lydney were 4-1 victors over Charlton Rovers to advance into the next round.

In the second semi final Frampton United Reserves beat fellow Division Two side Bibury 4-3 in another exciting tie involving Frampton’s seconds.

They will now play hosts to newly promoted Kings Stanley who shocked Cheltenham Civil Service 2-1.

Both semi finals are played on Saturday 14th September, with both games scheduled for 14:30 kick offs.

With the Reg Davis Cup now put to bed for a month, the Gloucestershire Northern Senior League sides can begin to kick on as the league season rolls on.

Charlton Rovers, who beat Longlevens Reserves 6-0 on the opening weekend, host Upton St Leonards who are one of four sides making their league bows for the season.

The other sides making their first league outings this season are Chalford, who travel to Leonard Stanley, Taverners who host Cheltenham Civil Service and Tuffley Rovers Reserves who welcome Berkeley Town to Glevum Park.

Elsewhere Harrow Hill host Whitecroft, with both sides looking for their first win of the season. Also, Woolaston will be looking to build on last week’s win at English Bicknor when they welcome Longlevens Reserves.
