Cinderford Town manager Paul Michael said he was delighted with his side after the Foresters’ 1-0 win over Hereford on Monday night.
A second half Ethan Moore strike was enough to see Cinderford claim a win in their first home pre-season friendly.
In a game that allowed Michael the chance to see his new signings in action in front of a big crowd and he admitted that at times his side struggled with confidence on the ball, but believes they will grow as pre-season wears on.
With a crowd of over 600 at the Causeway, both sides utilised their matchday squads throughout a competitive 90 minutes that saw two yellow cards brandished for persistent late fouls.
In the end Moore completed a fairytale comeback to football with a well taken winner just past the hour mark. The whole stadium were delighted to see Moore score and in an emotional scene later on, he received a standing ovation from the Cinderford fans.
