Severn Sport Tipster League 2019 – Cheltenham Festival Day 3 Results

What a day for the punter day three has been. Favourites galore to begin the day and at one point after the end of yesterday into the first few races today there were 6 winning favourites in a row. Frightening stuff!

For our 11 tipsters today was all about pushing on with the momentum gathered yesterday and start their ascend towards the top of the tipster league. After yesterday as many as 10 tipsters could make a claim to be looking to win it, how many will be in the frame heading to the final hurdle tomorrow? Let’s take a look at an enthralling day 3.

14:50 – Ryanair Chase

1) Frodon (9/2)
2) Aso (33/1)
3) Road To Respect (9/2)

Pulled Up: Terrefort

A decent start for some of our tipsters, well all except Square Leg & #Bouncebackers who both picked Terrefort, meaning they both scored -2 points, as well as The Fox, Mr Slimbridge AFC & The Tinkers who all failed to score any points.

The Bear picked up 1 point for picking Road To Respect to place, whilst Sweet Prince, Bacon, Knight Riders & Always In My Brother’s Shadow tipped Frodon, claiming points a piece. Bacon will be kicking himself after naming the 33/1 shot Aso as his reserve.

The big winner was Last Chance Saloon who used his double points on Frodon as well as tipping Road To Respect to place, meaning he scored 7 points.

So after a good start for the majority of our tipsters, can they keep up their momentum in the Stayers’ Hurdle?

15:30 – Stayers’ Hurdle

1) Paisley Park (11/8 Fav)
2) Sam Spinner (33/1)
3) Faugheen (4/1)

Firstly, no minus points were issued in this one as all horses finished the race thankfully.

This was a great race for our tipsters, with 10 of the 11 mentioning Paisley Park in their tips. Only Sweet Prince & Square Leg failed to pick up any points, after the latter only picked Paisley Park as his reserve.

There were 3 points eachfor The Bear, The Fox, The Tinkers, Knight Riders & Last Chance Saloon for having the winner.

Always In My Brother’s Shadow & Mr Slimbridge AFC went one further by having Faugheen to place, meaning they both scored 4 points.

The two big winners in this one were Bacon & #Bouncebackers who used their double points boost on Paisley Park, meaning they scored 6 points each.

Our tipsters were having a great day after the first two races, with the boosts playing their part in some high scores. Could they round off the day with in some cases a hattrick of winners?

16:10 – Brown Advisory & Merriebelle Stable Plate

1) Siruh du lac (9/2)
2) Janika (3/1 Fav)
3) Spiritofthegames (6/1)
4) Eamon An Cnoic (10/1)

Pulled Up: River Wylde, Kalondra

Not too many points distributed in this one, but still enough to keep it interesting.

#Bouncebackers & Square Leg had River Wylde, who pulled up meaning they scored -2 points. However for the latter, he had the winner – meaning he took home 1 point.

The Fox & Knight Riders scored 3 points each for the winner, with the latter taking home the hattrick ball for a winner in all three races.

Last Chance Saloon scored 1 point for a place, whilst Sweet Prince had the winner and a place,  as well as having Kalondra who pulled up. Overall it meant he picked up 2 points.

Mr Slimbridge AFC had the straight forecast and collected an all important 5 points. The others went scoreless.

And there we have it. The end of the penultimate day at the Cheltenham Festival. An early night tomorrow, ahead of a massive day for punters everywhere and the tipster league, where it is all to play for. Let’s take a look at the table.

Look. At. That. 7 points separate the top 8! And with double points for the Gold Cup race itself on offer it is still in the balance. Sweet Prince remains top despite a quietish day, whilst Bacon maintains consistency to move up to 2nd.

Big movers include Last Chance Saloon who picked up 11 points on the day to move up to 4th and Knight Riders who move up to 6 after collecting 9 points.

Looking at the table, you have to feel it will take a miracle for #Bouncebackers, The Bear or Square Leg to win the race, but stranger things have happened.

Join us back here tomorrow morning for the 4th and final days’ tips, including the Gold Cup race and to see who will win the tipster league.
