There are concerns over Wednesday’s card at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival, with wind speeds expected to reach up to 50 mph over Gloucestershire.
Clerk of the course Simon Claisse said “We wanted to give an early insight into conditions for tomorrow as the forecast is looking challenging with strong, gusting winds throughout the day.
“We are continually monitoring the situation and will keep racegoers informed as the conditions present themselves.”
An inspection will take place at 08:00 on Wednesday morning, and should the day’s racing not go ahead it will be moved back to Saturday.
It bears resemblance to similar conditions 11 years ago at The Festival, where Wednesday’s card was cancelled and high profile races, such as the Queen Mother Champion Chase, were added to Thursday and Friday’s cards.
