The search for a first league win for Gloucester City under Chris Todd goes on, as the Tigers fell to defeat to Weston Super-Mare, stretching their winless league run to four months.
Odin Bailey had put the home side ahead minutes into the second half, before three goals without reply from Marlon Jackson, Jamie Lucas and Eli Phipps saw the Tigers drop into the relegation zone of the National League South.
The defeat marks four months to the day since City’s last win in the league, a 2-1 away win at Hungerford in September under previous manager Marc Richards who left to join Hereford FC weeks later.
It would have been an apt time for Todd to get his first win as manager, as his predecessor Richards had done so on New Year’s Day 2018 in a 3-0 defeat of Oxford City, live on Severn Sport.
Tigers fans have rallied on social media this evening following the defeat, with several supporters calling for time on Chris Todd’s brief spell at the helm of their club after no league win in 13 attempts.
FT 3-1 defeat
Worst start to any managerial reign at this club. An appalling and frankly humiliating defeat.
In the relegation zone and out of both cups and no win in over three months. Completely embarrassing. The board have to act now. This is not acceptable

How bad does it get before we realise this manager isn’t up to it? Bad decision to appoint him. No league wins since September? #shameful

Chris Todd seems like a friendly bloke but he’s done a terrible job and must go now. We’ve regressed so far. We are nailed on certs for relegation if Todd stays.

I’m the wife that followed her husband to @GCAFCofficial matches to show support, and ended up making as much noise as I could in the crowd. I’ve tried to stay positive and upbeat. I’ve turned bloody Yellow. But there’s no hiding the shame of today’s loss. I’m on the floor.

Disappointing doesn’t even come close to supporters’ emotions after that. Gutted and angry is more apt. Todd out.

I’m sorry @GCAFCofficial but this hasn’t worked out. Please for the club’s sake admit it and make the change. Or are we stuck with a manager who can’t win a game because we can’t afford to pay him off an 18 month contract??

Can't remember a time when a manager has been such an utter disaster. Trying to think of any City manager with a worse rating amongst fans?
— Barry Curtis (@BarryGCurtis) 1 January 2019
He has to go. End of. It isn't just bad, it is historically bad.

@TheVOTTE @GCAFCofficial what an absolute shambles. As soon as they equalised there was only one team going to win. Todd has to go now. It's not working. Something has to change now while there's still a chance to get out of this mess!
