Christmas is coming up thick and fast and here at Severn Sport we are getting into the Christmas spirit in a big way. Over the next 12 days we will be dipping into the Severn Sport vault to bring you commentaries, match reports and interviews from games throughout the years.
Day One takes us back to the start of the year, New Years Day to be exact. Ryan and Kelsey travelled to Oxford City for the National League South fixture against Gloucester City.
The Tigers were going into the game under a new regime, with Marc Richards now at the helm after Tim Harris’ recent departure. Gloucester made the trip to Marsh Lane in search of their first win of the new regime and were to get it thanks to an inspired performance from forward Ethan Moore.
Moore, who missed the 2016/17 season after an ACL injury, was struggling to find the net for the Tigers in his return season. He was to go on to score the 3rd in a great 3-0 win for City.
The forward’s goal was the icing on the cake that started with an early Chris Knowles header and a glorious Karnell Chambers strike and it would kick start a revival that saw Richards and his men fight off the prospect of relegation from the National League South.
Ryan and Kelsey were there to provide live radio commentary so check out the highlights below.
After the game, we spoke to then Gloucester City manager Marc Richards on a pivotal day in Gloucester City’s season.
Don’t miss day 2 of the Severn Sport 12 Days Of Christmas when we dive into the Severn Sport vault for the second time.
